Traveling with Joshua

As most of you know, traveling with a one year-old is lots of fun, especially for a boy who loves routine. This past weekend we went down to San Diego to visit Robert's mom for Easter. Overall, Joshua did great, except for sleep. See, right now Joshua does not like his naps (even at home). He usually cries for 20 minutes or so and then goes to sleep. I was a little worried about how long he would take to go to sleep in a new place. Well, the first two naps went pretty normal, which I will take. That night, he went to sleep pretty easy and I was relieved. Robert and I crept into the room when we went to bed (with Butch, of course) and all was well, until midnight. I was awakened by a little hand touching mine saying "Dad, dad, dad, dad". Then Butch woke up and Joshua started saying "Good dog, good dog, etc." Robert and I tried to stay still hoping Joshua would lay back down in his pack-n-play and go back to sleep. No luck. Since Joshua always sleeps in a separate room from us, he must of thought it was play time. I mean, how great to wake up and see your mom, dad and dog in the same room. After I laid Joshua back down, Robert and I left to a different room to sleep. The rest of the weekend, we slept in different rooms and Joshua did quite well.
I guess this means two rooms for us right now.
