Now that Joshua is crawling I have started to say No to him. You know, no to pulling on the light cord, no to playing with the outlets, no to tearing out pages in his books, etc. I try to sound stern to get his attention and then show him what he can play with. Today while we were playing in his room, he went to his favorite outlet. I said No, Joshua you can't play with the outlet. While I was saying this he turned towards me and shook his head back and forth. At first I did not understand why, until I realized I was also shaking my head. He then reached for the outlet again and before I could say anything he stopped, turned around, shook his head and smiled. Yes, babies are really smart. I will now have to try to say no without shaking my head.
